Replacments

Alrighty then... Yet another exciting day in the Miller household. Don't ya just love it when all you are trying to do is make it by and the things of life make you take a step back and reallocate time, priorities and funds. I had no greater joy yesterday than to write a check for a new window!! Let me tell you this story.

On Thursday may 8th, Rebecca was not home yet and I was finishing up dishes form dinner, my mother was playing soccer with my 8yr old (Noah) and my 3yr old (Nathan) in the den (something that would have most likely not been allowed in her house, if she had one) about 15 mins. into "the game that should not have been happening" Nathan runs in the kitchen to let me know that Noah had broken something. I walked into the den to see Noah crying like Niagara falls and saying "I hate my life, why am I so stupid" and then my mom saying sooo innocently "Noah broke the window" so there we are a week and a half later and $160 less and we have a new window.

Now mom is a different kind of replacement... I was trying last night to encourage her to find a place of her very own; I found her a place, an apartment nearby and I told her that I thought that it was in her price range. Her response.. "well if that's what you want me to do". How do you explain to a 57 yr old women that a recliner and a corner to place your things is NOT a home???? Rebecca and I of course love her dearly, but our 2200 sq ft home is becoming ever so small. What to do, what to do? We are starting to wonder if (a) she wants to ever leave and (b) will she ever find her own replacement. ???????? This means, I don't know!!
